Carbohydrates obtained from the “white food” sources such
as potatoes are believed to be a bad choice. According to the
misconceptions and mistaken beliefs of many health professionals,
carbohydrates are supposed to be no-no foods and every white food
including the white sugar and bread are considered to have high
glycemic index and bad for our bodies. Since these foods have earned
a reputation of responsible for weight gain and have high content of
calories, most of the fitness experts would advise you to stay away
from these foods. In fact they are encouraging to use brown bread,
brown sugar or brown rice but discourage only the white. On the
contrary, white foods should not be excluded from our diets entirely.
All types and colors of food have distinctive qualities and they are good
for the nutritional needs of our bodies. Foods in white color specifically
hold some of the exclusive nutrients that are very important for the
growth and development of our bodies. Unfortunately you cannot
bear the absence of these nutritional ingredients in your body and
therefore, resume health so white foods should not be dropped from
our diets entirely.
